VICTORIA DAVIES-KOCH is an International rider, Australian FEI Grade II Para Dressage squad rider, campaigner and breeder of the PRE SPANISH and LUSITANO breeds.

Victoria has throughout her career achieved what most people only dream of and she does this whilst fighting a crippling disease RHEUMATOID which she was first diagnosed with at age 9 and of recent times a serious neck and spinal condition that was diagnosed 1 week out from the 2016 Paralympic European qualifiers which she was forced to withdraw from on medical grounds.

This setback and knowing the potential risks involved if she continues to ride has not deterred Victoria who continues to train each day and compete.

Victoria has a broad understanding of the two breeds with over 30 years experience with the PRE Spanish horse campaigning them at International, CDI, National, State and Royal level. Also, spending 3 years traveling overseas to train and compete.

August 2018 Victoria was invited to become a director for the the 'Pura Raza Española Association of Australasia' (PREAA); Victoria has always been passionate about growing the reputation of the breed and eagerly welcomed the invitation to go on board where she helps promote the breed, spread education and welcome newcomers to the fabulous world of the PRE horse.

However, winning isn't everything!

Victoria still enjoys nothing better than to train her own horses, proving herself as a kind, passionate rider that achieves results with good, correct riding. Victoria has very strong connections with her horses, especially the 2 stallions ANDALUKA ELEGIDO and CELERE all of whom are trained to be led by Victoria using her wheelchair and further more they understand Victoria's somewhat different aids.

Whilst Victoria is a Para Dressage rider she does not restrict herself to only para dressage; most weekends you will see Victoria riding in open dressage through the levels of Novice and up to Medium. Victoria has competed at both Championship and National level in open dressage and believes it is very important to support the sport of para throughout open dressage and mix the training up for herself and horses.

Victoria has trained with many renown riders and trainers - Olympic Portuguese rider of Rubi AR - Goncalo Carvalho, Cesar Lerias, Master Miguel Tavora, Ton de Ridder and Alycia Targa.

At 10 months under saddle Victoria and her stallion ANDALUKA ELEGIDO became the first PRE Spanish in history to be selected for an AUSTRALIAN HIGH PERFORMANCE SQUAD. December 2013 they qualified for WEG, France 2014. A credit to her training abilities.

In March 2014 Victoria purchased the outstanding Approved breeding Lusitano buckskin stallion CELERE from Portugal as her International performance dressage horse for European competition. Together in 2015 they qualified for Hartpury CPEDI 3*, England. CELERE was imported to Australia August 2016 and together Victoria and CELERE continue their strong journey together currently competing official medium and training PSG.

Victoria has strong determination to follow her dreams of competing at the Paralympics and to continue promoting the PRE & LUSITANO breed in Para and Open dressage.
